MCG PARTICIPATES IN THE 12TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF AACC

The Methodist Church Ghana as a member of the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC) was represented at the 12th General Assembly and 60th Anniversary. The Assembly was held at Abuja – Nigeria, from 18th – 23rd November 2023 under the theme โ€œThe Love of Christ compels us.โ€. 2cor 5:14

The Assembly is among the largest and most diverse gatherings in Africa, bringing together 600 participants including delegates from member churches, guests, observers, and ecumenical partners from 42 African countries and the Diaspora.

The Assembly gathered to celebrate and deliberate on the life of AACC for the next five years.

In line with AACC tradition, the Assembly was preceded with Theological Institute for young Theologians (7th – 16th November), Women and Youth Pre-assembly (17th – 18th November).

The General Assembly began with a formal opening on Sunday 19th November 2023 at the National Christian Centre, Abuja.

The 60th Anniversary Celebration highlighted the History, Achievements, Present and Future Projections of AACC.

The representatives of the Methodist Church Ghana  at the 12th GA were The Most Rev. Dr. Paul K. Boafo – Presiding Bishop, Very Rev. Comfort R. Papafio – Gender & Social Intervention Director, Bro Obed Ayim Boateng – Youth Delegate, and Bro Samuel Osei Boateng – 2nd Year Student from TTS ( _Trinity Theological Seminary)
