HUM Leadership Strategies Towards “Possessing the Nations”

Apostle Emmanuel Agyei Kwafo, the National Coordinator for the Home and Urban Missions (HUM) of The Church of Pentecost, led a one-day meeting with the National Executive Committee on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at The Church of Pentecost Missions Transit Quarters in East Legon, Accra.

The session, centred on the theme “Lessons from Colossians,” emphasised unity and dedication towards the “Possessing the Nations” agenda.

Drawing from Colossians 4:7–15 and 17, Apostle Kwafo highlighted the exemplary lives of biblical figures to inspire modern-day ministry.

He began with Tychicus, whose close relationship with the apostle Paul and dedication to ministry serve as a model for current leaders. Apostle Kwafo urged the committee to emulate Tychicus’ commitment and fervor.

Reflecting on Onesimus, once a runaway, now described by Paul as a “faithful and beloved brother,” Apostle Kwafo emphasised the transformative power of ministry.

He expressed hope that today’s converts would experience similar positive transformations, leaving their pasts behind to embrace new, faithful roles within the church.

The HUM Coordinator also mentioned other notable figures like Aristarchus, Mark, Jesus (Justus), and Epaphras, who supported Paul while maintaining their professional commitments.

He highlighted their collaborative efforts as crucial for achieving the common goal of “possessing the nations.”

Apostle Kwafo particularly commended Epaphras for his hard work, urging Christians to strive for such dedication that their leaders would vouch for them.

Finally, Apostle Kwafo spoke about Archippus, encouraging him to continue and expand his ministry.

He interpreted Paul’s message as an exhortation to give one’s utmost in ministry, aligning with the church’s broader mission.

In his closing remarks, Apostle Kwafo prayed for the leaders, asking for divine strength and guidance to fulfill their roles effectively and contribute to the church’s mission of possessing the nations.

He underscored the importance of hard work, faithfulness, and a unified approach to achieving the church’s objectives.
